Our Romantic Anniversary in Tenerife

This year my husband did something wonderful for our wedding anniversary – he took me on holiday to Tenerife!

I had wanted to go back to the island for so long. We had enjoyed our first holiday together on the island of Tenerife over fifteen years ago and it brought back such wonderful memories for me. He didn’t even tell me his plan until the evening before we left – I had to race around the house trying to find everything I needed, but he had already washed all of my holiday clothes!

I couldn’t remember too much about our other Tenerife holidays so I had a bit of a browse online at what lay in store for me. It was so exciting sitting at home on my computer looking at the beautiful island which I would be landing on tomorrow! I had a look at a site which had some information about the climate in Tenerife and I realised that it hadn’t been a case of rose tinted spectacles! It was a truly hot island, with a fantastic weather record, particularly in the time of ear that we were travelling.

I couldn’t wait to explore the island and revisit some of the places we had been to before. I had heard that the island had changed quite a lot over the last few years, and apparently for the better, but looking at a Tenerife guide, I also knew that some of the wonderful little beaches that we had discovered off the beaten track the last time we went remained unspoilt little gems that we would surely find again.
